The Evolution of GTA Online | From Grand Theft Auto to Battlefield

Welcome to another edition to our GTA Geographic series. On this episode we are looking into the evolution of GTA Online as a game. Grand Theft Auto was released in 2013 and lots of things have changed for better and for worse. Micro transactions made their debut in the form of sharkcards in GTA online which would, for sure later, around the Gunrunning, Smugglers Run and Doomsday Heist release, shape the world of GTA Online.

The game has changed and turned more into Battlefield then anything else. From a game that was close to being dead to the an active and bustling playerbase in 2018. The Evolution of GTA Online is one we have never seen before in video game history.

GTA Geographic is a Grand Theft Auto 5 series where we look into the different players roaming around in free mode.
